What is Club190?
For all who love Historic Preservation, Dana Crawford, community, and the chance to be a part of Colorado history in Trinidad, CO.
Club190 is a place for discussion about preservation and placemaking for people who draw inspiration from Dana Crawford’s passion and vision. Dana was all about her passion projects and rarely took all the credit for the many things she influenced. The outcome of preserving something important by reinventing it into something sustainable today was what drove her to set the table with those who needed to come together to solve the problem at hand. We invite you to “opt-in” to this discussion, to learn more about all the many things that attracted her to Trinidad, and stay informed of the gathering we plan to host here in Denver and in Trinidad as we build community around Trinidad.
Dana’s wholistic approach to reinventing Trinidad by engaging the local community, finding the stakeholders who could champion the vision that embraced its rich history of classic buildings forgotten over time, finding the funding to do it in a way that, once again, can create a vibrant refuge of culture,
creativity and affordable living is what drove her. She lived for the ride, and we celebrate here.
Shortly after falling in love with Trinidad, she and the friends she made along the way came together as “Club 190” to build on the connection of Trinidad to all its neighbors loosely defined by a distance of 190 miles. It was a bridge for those in Denver to discover and imagine what Trinidad could be by drawing inspiration from and connection to places like Santa Fe and Taos, NM.
Like her discovery of Larimer Street in the 60’s she came to Trinidad not knowing it was filled with a diverse collection of some 50 buildings cataloged as part of the “Corazon de Trinidad” District ” in the National Registry of Historic Places or its curious and quirky events like Trinidaddio, Rad Fest or Spider Fest.
If this website is meant to create a place for those curios about Trinidad, then our “For the Love of
Preservation” tours seek to provide a unique opportunity for you to rub elbows with community
stakeholders who can inform you in the many ways they are keeping Dana’s dream alive.
You can join us now by opting in to get more involved, learn about investment opportunities or keep in
the loop on the future goings’ on we are planning at our next “For the love of Preservation” tour.
